Termination of counselling services

SOS Counselling Services reserves the right to politely refuse service if it is deemed that the counsellor sees the particular symptoms described by the client as being not in his scope of expertise inter alia such as a mismatch in personalities, the uncovering of a different need in treatment, a client not being actively engaged in counselling etc. In such cases, counsellors have an obligation to terminate counselling services rather than continue along an ineffective course. However, SOS will try to refer the client to the right specialists who can best meet the needs of the client.SOS Counselling services can without prejudice terminate therapy services with a client if it is reasonably clear that the client is not benefiting from our services.SOS services will attempt to make reasonable arrangements for the continuity of service provision when they are no longer able to deliver therapeutic assistance. When confronted with a problem or a situation that SOS is not capable of resolving or when a client is not benefiting from their counselling services. SOS will provide clients with a verbal explanation for the reasons and need for termination and offers of help finding alternative sources of assistance.

Your Privacy

In rare instances from time to time when deemed appropriate and helpful (with tacit consent given by the client) audio and video recordings could be used within the confines of the counselling session. We acknowledge and respect that the privacy to which counselling services are provided is essential and will be protected in accordance Australian Community Counselling Association https://acca.asn.au/the-acca-code-of-conduct.

Your conduct

You agree to treat our counsellors with courtesy and respect. You agree that you will not conduct yourself in any way that is threatening; harmful; abusive; harassing; defamatory offensive; or objectionable. We reserve the right to terminate any counselling consultation at any time if this occurs.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SOS Counselling Services and all affiliated counsellors and related parties, officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, that may be filed by any third party, arising out of your conduct or connection with this website or our services, your violation of these Terms and Conditions, or any other violation by you of the rights of another person or party including any of our counselors. Appointments

Therapy sessions are strictly by appointment. We request you come in 15 minutes earlier for administrative duties. In the event of a cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, we request that you give us 24 hours warning as we have limited session appointments available.
We conduct three-counselling approaches in my practice.
• Face-to-face (preferred)
• Walk and talk
• Online video counselling sessions

Payments

SOS counselling session charges are based on an hourly rate. Our standard rates are $120 (no GST) for a 55-minute session. We charge less than the gap fee when using the services of a psychologist even with a rebate.
Payments: Cash, PayPal, Credit Card or Payment via Internet Banking. For those experiencing financial hardship, we may offer a lower repayment fee based on the client’s capacity to pay. But before committing to seeing me, I offer a free 15-minute initial phone appointment as a great way to get a sense of the person you may be seeing as your counsellor to see if I am the right fit for you.
